4pm Meet with Trista (our personal trainer) for 30 minute cardio and 30 minute weight training. Her goal is to keep your heartrate in your "target zone" for the entire hour, so she has you wear a heart rate monitor and she checks it every minute or so. She also puts you through a strenuous weight training 30 minutes, also with the heart rate monitor on. Believe me, you work much harder with Trista than you would on your own.

5pm Shower, cool down in pool.

6pm Dinner.

7pm Massage for one hour by Trista-she's great! Then into the hot tub for a few minutes.

9pm Watch TV in the Lodge Room, or Settle in With a Good Book. Some Nights ther are Campfires and Cowboy Sing-a-longs.

Going strong at the ranch

Visit our homepage at http://www.ranchocortez.com

Most mornings we walk 3 miles at about 8am. Two mornings a week the personal trainer puts us through our paces on the weight equipment, stair stepper and stationary bike. We're going to increase that to 3 mornings per week. Then there's a trail ride at 10am. Usually before that we fix protein shakes (trying to avoid the bacon and eggs). Then it's back for one of Rosie and Jose's homemade lunches. I go over the ingredients with them, and the portion sizes. Afternoons there is another trail ride, and everyone hangs out by the pool after that. The hot tub gets a lot of use too. Our personal trainer is also a licensed massage therapist, and getting a massage in the evening ensures a great nights sleep. The evening meal is at 6, and again it's homemade by Rosie and Jose. This is a great way to get back in shape and get remotivated. Get more details about lodging and rates at www.ranchocortez.com
